CAPTAIN GLENN BRAIN – AUSTRALIAN AGE 38
Glenn comes from the coastal resort town of Merimbula, NSW Australia. He has spent the past 12 years in the maritime industry and has had a number of different roles that span from luxury charters in Sydney and the Caribbean, to sport fishing for Marlin, Tuna and Sailfish on the Great Barrier Reef. He has captained whale and dolphin research charters, diving charters, scientific research explorations, Maxi yacht racing and Australian maritime security operations. Glenn has managed premier ski lodges in France and Australia and brings his wealth of hospitality and maritime experience to Essence to ensure a safe, relaxed and happy environment for all onboard to enjoy.
MERRILIE INSCH – 34 yrs
During Merrilie’s childhood, she was surrounded by fruit orchids, fresh herbs and vegetable gardens. Such influences determine that only the best quality and freshest ingredients are used to prepare the MV Essence menu. Although Merrilie’s main focus is to prepare healthy, light and delicious meals, she is known for her wicked desserts and baked goodies. Interestingly her work has not always been connected to food. Merrilie completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Anthropology before spending 10 yrs in the corporate tourism and public education sectors. After chefing in the ski industry (Australia and France) for the past three years, Merrilie is now enjoying a “foodies tour” of the Caribbean, Bahamas and Eastern American states aboard MV Essence in her fully equipped commercial grade galley. Apart from cooking, Merrilie loves to run, practice yoga, ski and read.
Jack McKee hails from Scotland where he grew up sailing. After attending Glascow University Royal Navy Unit, he has turned his attention to the yachting industry where he is pursuing a career as a marine engineer. He is a keen fisherman and avid foodie. Peta Sarah Davies. Mountain Woman. Born and raised in the Australian Alps in Perisher Valley Ski Resort. From an early age she has worked in the ski industry alongside her parents running a ski chalet. Besides skiing, Peta also loves to sail and travel. Peta is excited to join the Essence team this summer to cruise the Mediterranean.
