SUDIKI Crew Profile
Duff Walter is a very accomplished cruising and racing sailor, a US Coast Guard licensed Master Captain and a certified scuba diver. He has over 35 years experience sailing in the Chesapeake Bay, Caribbean Sea. Atlantic Ocean, and Great Lakes. In his racing days, Duff competed in national and international one-design championships, World Cup offshore races and America's Cup campaigns. Before deciding to go to sea for a living, Duff was a partner in a CPA firm specializing in fraud investigations and has an MBA from the University of Maryland in computer Sciences.
The design and detailed outfitting of SUDIKI embodies Duff’s long and varied sailing career. He willingly shares his extensive sailing knowledge - including celestial navigation - with those who show interest. As an ‘old hand’ in the Grenadines, Duff likes to show his guests the real Caribbean, meeting the local folks and experiencing local ways. Duff has an easy-going, unflappable personality and knows how to enjoy life to the fullest.
Chris Walter is English by birth, spent part of her childhood in Malaya and has enjoyed traveling ever since. Educated at Cambridge University, she was a teacher before beginning her charter career in the Caribbean in 1973. She managed a restaurant in Marblehead, Massachusetts and had her own business in Maryland. Chris’ boating background runs the gamut from classic to high-tech. She grew up sailing an 1875 Bristol Pilot Cutter and later served as chef on a number of famous maxi-racers.
Chris has a US Coast Guard Captain’s License and has done extensive offshore and coastal sailing and racing. She is also a certified scuba diver. A cheerful person who calls herself a hedonist, she takes great delight in spoiling and dazzling her guests.
SUDIKI Testimonials
Keith, known as “Ever Ready”, has a knack of planning wonderful trips & the most fun people on the trips> He found Sudiki and Chris and Duff. You are both great sailors and I always felt safe when sailing. That does not count the wildest and wettest dinghy ride ever even for the captain. Those were his words. Bon Bon was so happy to have Chris’s cooking. Valentines Day will remain in our memory forever> What a BLAST!!!!! Loved getting to know Dougie and Mikey. We started this trip to come and see the beautiful islands of the Grenadines but because of Duff and Chris we saw more than sea and land. We saw another whole world filled with beauty and magic. Most people dont get a chance like this. Or to learn how to play Caribe dominos. Still haven’t got it down pat but will practice for next time. Thanks and Love Bon Bon and Ever Ready.

Chris & Duff,
Thanks for a wonderful vacation. It was great for me to see all those great spots again after so many years> You have done an exceptional job in making Anita a true sailor. We have truly enjoyed your great hospitality and felt at homeat the minute we boarded. We have been amazed all the way through of Chris’ s cooking skills and herewith officially award you the first maritime Michelin two star award. We really enjoyed Duff”s sailing skilss and Sudiki”s comfort! We also enjoyed solving all the worlds problems after first trying to empty your liqour stock which was not easy but a pleasure to do. New Years Eve we will not lightly forget but I do hope to get rid of the bruises very soon. Douglas” performance is another highlight that we will cherish for a long time! Once again thank you for a wonderful holiday!!! Bas and Anita
