Notes FISHING GEAR BOARD --new in 2007 On board the CHARISMA we carry a wide variety for fishing. First of all, when many people ask or outfit their yacht with fishing gear they mostly consider conventional tackle which is trolling reels and for offshore. When we think of a fishing charter for enthusiasts we think about the many varieties and we do have a well rounded line-up. For Offshore: Shimano TLD (Titanium Lever Drag) 2X 50lb TLDs, 4X 25lb TLDs, & 1X 15lb TLD. They are great for charter as they are high-end but, simple and durable for the charter market. They are great for all types of trolling styles as well as "bait and switch "for "shot gunning". Our rods are all "stand ups" which is better for Center consoles that do not have fighting chairs. We also have 2X Penn spinning reels that can be used for inshore fishing as well. We also have a set of Teaser reels if requested for more complex fishing styles. Inshore: We carry a variety of smaller and lighter spinning gear. Our 18' center console that we carry on deck doubles as our inshore fishing boat. We have specifically chosen a shallow draft that can bring a fisherman to the farthest corners of the shallows. There they can fish for the elusive bone fish on the flats. This 18' CC has a casting platform on the bow with great visibility and open space for casting. We also have a small quiver in ranges of "fly fishing rods & reels." Most sport-fishermen who fly fish carry their own set-ups for that. However, we do know the right flies needed and where & when to go for the catch and be successful. Under the sea: When free diving with (usually enough for the group) Hawaiian slings. We have secret spots that the locals wish they knew about for fresh Grouper and Hog Snapper (Lobster season is closed until August). Ranging in depths of 14' to 60'. In mid/late May & early June the Bahamas can be the spot for Mahi Mahi. It is known as the Dolphin run around there and if the Mahi run close and we listen for the reports we can put guests right on the fish and the action is HOT. It can be too easy at times but hard on ones back from all that action! When the Mahi move in they also attract Sailfish and White Marlin (are @ 60lbs) that are chasing the Tunas that surface just before sunset and into the early evening. **NOTE: exact fishing gear carried aboard is subject to change without notice.
