Captain Diego • Chef Eden • First Mate / Stewardess Laura

Captain: Diego Martín Duverges

Born in Argentina, Captain Diego brings over 20 years of experience on the water, with an extensive background in yacht charter, sailing, watersports, and hospitality. His career has taken him throughout the Caribbean and Mediterranean, including the Bahamas, St. Maarten, Los Roques, Ibiza, and Sardinia, where he has captained both sailing and motor yachts up to 90 feet.

An RYA Yachtmaster Offshore and STCW Master of Yachts up to 200 GT, Diego combines strong technical and navigational expertise with a genuine passion for creating memorable experiences for his guests. Having also worked in luxury hospitality, he understands the importance of attentive, personalized service and enjoys tailoring each itinerary around his guests’ interests and preferred pace.

A lifelong watersports enthusiast and certified instructor in windsurfing, kitesurfing, and wing foiling, Diego is happiest in and around the ocean and loves sharing that passion with guests. Warm, professional, and highly experienced, he speaks Spanish, English, German, Italian, French, and Portuguese, making guests from around the world feel immediately at ease onboard.

Chef: Eden Córdova

Hailing from Mexico’s Riviera Maya, Eden brings the heart and soul of his homeland to every plate. With a career built in exclusive private villas and high-end guest houses, he masterfully fuses traditional Mexican flavors with international inspirations, crafting dishes that delight every palate.

Renowned for his creativity, attention to detail, and warm hospitality, Eden has orchestrated everything from elegant weddings to themed dinners and curated tasting menus. Onboard, he transforms each meal into a sensory experience — colorful, vibrant, and unforgettable. Expect your days to be filled with the aromas and flavors of the tropics, and every dinner to become a memorable part of the charter experience.

First Mate / Stewardess: Laura Busch

Laura brings over 30 years of sailing experience aboard private and charter yachts throughout the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Caribbean. Her extensive time on the water includes cruising in the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Roatán, St. Maarten, Ibiza, and Sardinia, as well as an Atlantic crossing and participation in international sailing regattas.

As First Mate and Stewardess, Laura combines strong nautical experience with warm and attentive guest service. She assists with navigation, docking, mooring, anchoring, and offshore passages while also taking care of yacht preparation, provisioning, housekeeping, and the day-to-day comfort of guests onboard. Her background in interior design gives her a natural eye for detail and presentation.

Reliable, organized, and approachable, Laura enjoys creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere while maintaining high standards of safety and service. She holds STCW and ENG1 certifications as well as an Italian sailing and motorboat license up to 24 meters, and speaks Spanish, German, Italian, and English.

From Diego tailoring each day’s itinerary and finding the perfect anchorages, to Eden creating memorable meals and Laura ensuring guests feel comfortable and cared for throughout their stay, each member of the crew brings their own expertise to life onboard Ascension.
