Captain Steve
Steve grew up on the coast of Australia and has been immersed in sailing from a very young age. Joining the Navy Cadets at twelve years old, he followed a true professional path at sea—working across a wide range of vessels over the years and learning every inch of the job, from the bilges up. This isn’t a career he stumbled into—it’s one he’s built from day one.
With decades of experience spanning Australia, Greece, and the Caribbean, Steve combines expert seamanship with an easygoing personality that instantly puts guests at ease. He holds himself (and his vessel) to the highest standards of safety, maintenance, and performance. When he’s not at the helm, Steve is often out kitesurfing, foiling, or freediving- always happiest in or on the water. He is also a keen reader who enjoys a quiet moment with a good book. In the evenings you might catch him at the back of the boat sparkling up the barbie and grilling something simple and delicious- because nothing beats good food, fresh air and a Caribbean sunset shared with good company.
Crew Monika
Monika, originally from Poland, brings a rich and varied background to the Groovy crew. Before stepping into life on the water, she built a solid foundation in the hospitality industry—developing the attentive, guest-focused approach she brings to every charter today. Her earlier years were also marked by extensive travel and work throughout Africa, where she explored remote regions and worked as a safari guide, honing her eye for wildlife and her deep love of nature.
Now an experienced sailor and onboard chef, Monika blends local Caribbean ingredients with Mediterranean flair to create fresh, wholesome meals tailored to her guests. She also has a keen knowledge of local markets and seasonal produce, ensuring each dish is vibrant, healthy, and rooted in the region.
Naturally more introverted, Monika brings calm, insight, and subtle humor to life aboard Groovy. She connects thoughtfully with guests, listens well, and has an intuitive sense of how to help each person feel at ease—whether that means sharing a good story, pointing out a rare bird overhead, or simply letting the moment unfold.
________________________________________
Together, Steve and Monika offer a rare balance of skill, warmth, and quiet professionalism. With Groovy as your home on the water, you’ll discover not just beautiful destinations—but a charter experience that feels completely effortless, genuine, and deeply personal.
