Quest is a custom-built 1991 Alex Simonis catamaran that is equally at home voyaging through open ocean swell or being an adventure platform in a secluded bay. She is a drop-dead gorgeous boat that turns heads wherever she goes. Her airy interior is inviting, with plenty of light to compliment the grain of the well-appointed wood. Her staterooms exhibit all the comforts of home, with plush bedding and cozy nooks that make it hard to get up in the morning. With ample seating around tables in the salon and cockpit, Quest is the perfect place to relax, socialize, or party. There is even space for yoga or launching a kite. Sailing remarkably well, Quest dances through the waves. She is a joy to sail, and brings smiles to the faces of even the most experienced sailors. She is also incredibly safe, making her the perfect boat for families and first-time sailors alike. Quest is truly a wonder to behold. She is a work of art, a dream come true, and an absolute joy to sail. If you are looking for an unforgettable sailing experience, then Quest is the boat for you. |

Aaron Lathrop - Captain
Hailing from a diverse career path in sales, healthcare management, and emergency management, I’ve always been driven by a passion for helping others. However, my journey took a transformative turn when I discovered sailing. For years, I followed a familiar trajectory of work and family, but amidst the hustle, I felt a quiet disconnect from the natural world. Stepping onto the deck and feeling the wind in the sails was a profound reawakening. The ocean became my sanctuary—a place where the rhythm of the waves brought a sense of calm and clarity that was often lost in the demands of daily life. This isn’t just a career for me; it’s a calling to share the peace and wonder I’ve found on the water.
Now, as the captain of this catamaran, I bring a unique blend of professional expertise and genuine passion to every charter. My background has equipped me with a deep commitment to safety, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to navigate any situation with a calm and confident demeanor.
My greatest joy is sharing the magic of the sea with others, offering an escape where you can reconnect with nature and yourself. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or a first-time voyager, my goal is to provide a seamless and unforgettable experience, allowing you to relax, recharge, and discover the boundless beauty of the world around us.
Nelson - Mate/Deckhand
Nelson brings a diverse and impressive background to his role as lead deckhand aboard the sailing catamaran Quest. With a history of precision and responsibility, he transitioned from serving as an aircraft mechanic and crew chief in the U.S. Air Force to applying his technical skills in the civilian sector as a sales support technician for a biomedical device company. Most recently, his experience as an emergency department nurse at a trauma center has honed his ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, a critical asset for ensuring the safety and smooth operation of a vessel at sea.
Holding a nursing degree from Valencia College and a paramedic certification from Orlando Med, Nelson possesses a deep understanding of medical care and emergency protocols. His maritime credentials, including the STCW and VPDSD US Coast Guard designations, further certify his expertise in onboard safety and security. When not ensuring the exceptional experience of guests on the Quest, Nelson embraces an active lifestyle, finding joy in watersports like wakeboarding, waterskiing, and surfing, and is equally at home on the slopes as a snowboarder. His unique blend of technical knowledge, medical training, and a passion for adventure makes him an invaluable member of the Quest crew.
Sebastian - Stew/Cook
My diverse professional background, spanning the fitness, real estate, and hospitality industries, has uniquely prepared me for a career as a chief stew on a crewed charter yacht. As a certified yoga and Pilates instructor, I bring an understanding of wellness and client care that goes beyond simple service.
I am skilled in creating a tranquil and personalized environment for guests, anticipating their needs, and ensuring their comfort and relaxation throughout the journey. My experience as a luxury real estate broker and property manager, specializing in high-end Airbnb listings, further honed my ability to manage complex logistics, maintain pristine properties, and deliver exceptional service to discerning clientele. This, combined with my proficiency as a restaurant server and bartender, has equipped me with the organizational skills and grace under pressure required to manage all aspects of interior yacht operations, from impeccable table settings to crafting custom cocktails.
A native of Puerto Rico, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and possess my STCW and ENG1 certifications. My upbringing in a vibrant, coastal culture instilled in me a deep appreciation for the ocean and an adventurous spirit, which I indulge in through my passions for snorkeling and dancing.
I am a lifelong learner, constantly seeking to acquire new skills that will enhance both my professional and personal life. My unique blend of professional expertise and personal passion allows me to create a memorable and seamless experience for every guest, ensuring a charter vacation that is not only luxurious but also truly restorative and unforgettable.
