Captain Ibrahim Assad was born in Addu Atoll, the southern gem of the Maldives known for its unique charm. His love for sailing the Maldivian waters ignited at the age of 16, when he began exploring the seas with his family. By 18, he earned his first boat license and swiftly rose to become a certified Captain in just a few years. Having spent over 10 years as a First Officer aboard the Sea Explorer, Captain Assad joined SEAREX management two years ago, playing a pivotal role in finalizing and launching their latest vessel. He's skilled in First Aid and Advanced Firefighting, holding certifications in Coastal Navigation Class 5 and Maritime Operations Class 4.
Apart from his professional pursuits, Captain Assad finds joy in fishing as a hobby.


CRUISE DIRECTOR / DIVE INSTRUCTOR IBRAHIM MOHAMED

With more than 14 years experience in the Maldives tourism sector, our cruise director is well known in the Maldives Yachting industry. He's known for being both a top-notch diver and a skilled manager. Growing up in the Maldives, he's a certified PADI staff instructor and holds a high-ranking Emergency First Response Instructor trainer rating. Having worked in various Maldives resorts and diving spots, he knows the ins and outs of the best areas like the back of his hand. His real passion lies in introducing people to the joys of scuba diving. He loves taking guests out for diving and snorkeling adventures, and he's a pro at helping even those who can't swim conquer their fears and glide through the water like a natural. Before his cruise director days, he spent a solid 11 years in the Maldives Coast Guard, specializing in rescue and salvage diving.


ASSISTANT CAPTAIN THOHA IBRAHIM

Thoha hails from one of the northern islands in the Maldives. He's spent the last decade serving as a captain on the local ferry within the northern atolls. His journey with SEAREX began in early 2023 as an assistant captain.
Known for his knack in troubleshooting electrical appliances and handling fiberglass, Thoha ensures everything runs seamlessly. He's the go-to person when it comes to fixing technical issues. His expertise extends to making sure all machinery runs smoothly, supporting our Captain in the day-to-day operations onboard.


DHONI CAPTAIN AZEEM

Azeem, a young and energetic personality, has been the captain of SEAREX' Dive Dhoni for over 3 years now. He started working on the boat at 18, starting as a crew member and working his way up to become the captain. His experience guarantees a fun yet safe time for divers and snorkelers on board. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing and listening to music in his free time.


CABIN ATTENDANT HASSAN AIMAN

Aiman embarked on his hospitality career just a year ago, starting as a housekeeping staff member at resorts. His aspiration is to explore the Maldives, delving deeper into the natural islands and underwater adventures they offer. Working on a yacht seems like the ideal pathway to turn his dreams into reality and discover the treasures that the Maldives holds for tourists. Aiman possesses a keen eye for detail and exceptional focus, particularly evident in his meticulous cabin attendance, making him an excellent fit as a housekeeper for the team.


BOSUN MOHAMED RAMEEZ

Being a professional carpenter he has been taking care of vessels and trouble shooting them for over 10 years. His quick thinking has always been his most valuable feature. He has been with SEAREX at the last stages of the construction of the vessel, which has made him a blueprint of the vessel by heart. Other than those profession he is a creative decorator and good in fishing as a hobby.


HEAD CHEF HASITHA MADUSHAN

Our Chef, commenced his career in hospitality back in his home country of Sri Lanka, initially working in hotels since 2010. After gaining three years of valuable experience in the industry, he ventured to Abu Dhabi, where he honed his culinary expertise at a Japanese restaurant as a demi chef de partie, aiming to broaden his culinary repertoire and master diverse cuisines. Throughout his tenure on SEAREX, his extensive knowledge and culinary skills have earned admiration from numerous guests during their charters.


CHIEF STEWARD SANJAYA

Sanjaya was born and raised in Sri Lanka. He started his career with the training from Swiss Hotel School at Kandy in Sri Lanka. Since then, he started his career in Hotel Thilanka as a training waiter, and Sanjay is a professional and personable barman with over 14 years of experience at both high-end land-based establishments in Sri Lanka such as Coco Palm hotel for two years and various cruise Ships in the Maldives. He has also worked as a personal butler in Al Athavi Shake Palace for one year. As a Cruise Ship bartender, he serves guests in a way that makes them feel catered without intruding on their cruise experience in any way. His smile and personality make clients want to come back for his special drinks and he is someone who likes music and gets the guests up on their feet to enjoy the rhythm.


STEWARD IMALKA UDARA (UD)

Udara ‘UD’ joined SEAREX as a steward and swiftly gained experience as a talented bartender. His skill behind the bar and knack for crafting signature cocktails have consistently delighted the guests, making him a favorite among them. Udara is known for his ever-present smile and swift movements, always ensuring tasks are completed promptly and efficiently, reflecting his preference for timely execution.


DHONI CREW MAIN UDDIN

Main Uddin has been trained as a tender boat caretaker at SEAREX’ Dive Dhoni, he serves as a crew member. His primary role involves filling scuba tanks to provide divers with the cleanest and healthiest air for their underwater breathing. Additionally, he actively participates in various water sports, ensuring that all clients onboard have their equipment prepared for any water-based activities.
