MEET YOUR CREW
Tyler was born in Northern Arizona and raised in Southwestern Colorado. He has always had a passion for the outdoors and nature. Particularly snowboarding and backpacking. He spent several years working on a cattle ranch in the mountains of Colorado while studying at Northeastern Junior college for degrees in agricultural production and ranch business management. Although he holds a deep connection to the land he has always been drawn to the adventure of the sea.
Tyler was first introduced to sailing when he was 6 years old. He was given the opportunity to live on a boat sailing around the British Virgin Islands for a summer. Despite his young age the experience left a lasting impression. He took the first opportunity to get back to the islands, which was immediately following the hurricanes that devastated the islands in 2017. He spent two months assisting in relief efforts by replacing torn off roofing and helping with marine salvage efforts. He returned to the islands again after college where he began working day charters out of St Thomas. From water island to the Baths of Virgin Gorda and every stop in between. He bought his own boat and lived a minimalist lifestyle sailing around the Virgin Islands.
He quickly gained a reputation as an exceptional mate which afforded him opportunities to work on a wide variety of boats in diverse waters. Mega yachts in the Caribbean, offshore sailing deliveries in the Atlantic and fishing boats in Alaska, have turned him into a well rounded sailor. With 3,000 nm in the waters of the Virgin Islands alone he is excited to share his knowledge of the area with guests in a personal setting.
Michelle was born and raised in North Carolina and has been traveling all over the states for the past few years, working in various restaurants and small scale farms.
Fueled by a love for feeding people locally sourced ingredients Michelle is constantly creating food that feeds the soul. Having spent her previous three summers in Alaska working in the restaurant business by night and her days spent in the wilderness of the Kenai Mountain range has given her the love for food that comes directly from the earth. Michelle made her way down to the Virgin Islands on a whim that planted her on a small organic farm on the northside of St. Thomas where she has learned about local produce and cuisine that truly captures the flavors of the islands.
Supporting local growers has continued to be an aspiration for her culinary career. Michelle would love to take guests fishing and diving for their dinner or lunch.
